Which deployment should I choose?

Choose Lago Cloud if you want Lago to host, maintain, and update the billing service. Your team still configures pricing, connects your product data, and selects the payment and finance integrations it needs. Cloud accounts are currently arranged through Lago’s sales team. Choose self-hosted Lago if your team needs to run the application on its own infrastructure. This adds hosting, upgrades, monitoring, and operational work to your team’s responsibilities. See Premium features and deployment options before comparing costs.

Can I self-host?

Yes. Follow the self-hosted overview and Docker instructions. Premium is also offered with self-hosted deployment; contact Lago for the appropriate plan.

Is Lago Cloud the same product as the open-source edition?

Lago Cloud is the hosted deployment of Lago Premium. The open-source edition can be self-hosted, while Premium is offered with Cloud or self-hosted deployment. Features and support differ by edition; check the current pricing and feature list.

How should I compare total cost?

For Cloud, include the Lago plan, payment-provider fees, and the work to connect your product and finance systems. For self-hosting, also include infrastructure, upgrades, monitoring, incident response, and the team that operates the service. The Cloud guide separates these responsibilities.
