An Order is created when you mark an order form as signed. It is the permanent record of the signed agreement, and executing it provisions billing.

What an order is

The order’s content, inherited from the quote, cannot change. Before execution, the only editable fields are the execution type and execution date, via “Edit order”. An order cannot be voided or cancelled. Undoing a deal after execution happens at the billing layer: terminate the subscription, issue credit notes. An order has three statuses: created (waiting for execution), executed, and failed (execution failed, nothing was billed).

Execute an order

Execution provisions billing according to the execution type: subscriptions, coupons, and wallets for subscription quotes, a one-off invoice for one-off quotes, or nothing when the order is recorded only. An order executes automatically on its execution date, if one was set. To execute it manually:
  1. Open the order and click “Execute manually”;
  2. Review the order information and execution settings; and
  3. Click “Execute order” to confirm.
Execution is immediate, cannot be undone, and happens only once. If execution fails, the order moves to failed, nothing is billed, and you can execute it manually again.
