Package pricing
Package pricing sells consumption in fixed blocks at a set price, so a customer buys a whole unit of capacity whether or not they use all of it.
Also called block pricing, bundle pricing.
A block of 1,000 API calls for a flat amount is package pricing. Using 600 of them costs the same as using all 1,000.
It makes invoices predictable and easy to explain, at the cost of charging customers for headroom they did not consume.
