Coupon
A coupon is a discount applied to a customer's invoices, deducted from the invoice amount before tax.
Also called discount.
Coupons can be a fixed amount or a percentage, apply once or repeatedly, and expire on a date or after a number of uses.
Because the deduction happens before tax, a discount changes the taxable base rather than just the total, which matters for reporting in every jurisdiction.
