Overage
Overage is the charge applied to consumption above an allowance included in a plan or contract.
Also called overage charges.
It is what makes a plan with included usage still work when a customer exceeds it, and it is usually priced higher per unit than the committed volume.
Unexpected overage is one of the fastest ways to damage a customer relationship, which is why spend alerts and usage visibility matter as much as the rate itself.
