Revenue leakage
Revenue leakage is earned revenue a business never collects, because usage went unmetered, a discount outlived its term, an invoice was wrong, or a payment failed and was never chased.
It is rarely one large failure. It is the accumulation of small ones across thousands of invoices, which is exactly why it goes unnoticed without instrumentation.
Usage-based models widen the surface. Every uncounted event is revenue that was earned and will never be billed.
